I am working at Genel Transport as shipment tracking specialist in maritime transportation department. For the maritime trade industry, data analysis can be used in areas such as forecasting delays, facilitating the customs process, autonomous vessels. In addition, as in all other industries, the logistics industry is subject to digitalization and the amount of data emerging and the need for data analysis will increase. Furthermore, as IoT and smart containers become widespread, many data such as temperature, humidity and cargo damage will emerge. I plan to work on the maritime trade industry by analyzing data such as foreign trade data, commodity prices, arrival times of shipments, speed of vessels, weather / wind speed data, port congestions and waiting time at transhipment ports.
